Professor Eric Dugdale Wins Loeb Classical Library Fellowship

The Loeb Classical Library Foundation at Harvard University has awarded a Loeb Classical Library Fellowship to Gustavus Adolphus College Professor of Classics Eric Dugdale for the 2014-15 academic year. Dugdale received the $34,000 fellowship for his book project on empathy in Greek tragedy in performance.

On Saturday, May 31, a group of 40 donors, alumni, family members and student-athletes of Gustavus Adolphus College and its men’s and women’s golf programs attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the state-of-the-art Drenttel Golf Facility. The building site is west of the Swanson Tennis Center on the northwest corner of the campus.

Carlson Award for Distinguished Teaching during the College’s commencement exercises on Sunday, June 1. Due to a strong chance of rain and thunderstorms this afternoon, commencement exercises for the class of 2014 have been moved indoors to Lund Arena. Attendees will need a ticket and doors will open at 12:30 p.m. Overflow seating will be available so attendees without a ticket can watch the live stream of the ceremony.
