Alumna Helps to Rebuild Lutheran Church in Estonia

Miriam Lagus ’61 spent more than a dozen years working to raise funds to restore St. Martin’s Lutheran Church in Martna, Estonia, a parish her father served in. Inspired to help others by the community and spirit present during her time at Gustavus, her family, and God’s grace, she was able to raise nearly $90,000 to make repairs to this church half a world away.

Alumnus Jason Smerdon ’98 to Speak on Climate Change

Gustavus alumnus Dr. Jason Smerdon ’98 will present a lecture at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 15 titled “The Arctic as a Canary in the Coal Mine: Circumpolar Change in a Warming World,” as part of the campus-wide Global Insight program, which this year focuses on the world’s Circumpolar Region.

Women’s Hockey Advances to National Semifinals
