Men’s Hockey Moves into Quarterfinals of NCAA Tournament Posted on March 8th, 2012 by

The Gustavus Adolphus College men’s hockey team defeated the Milwaukee School of Engineering 3-1 in the first round of the NCAA Division III Men’s Hockey Tournament on Wednesday, March 7 at Don Roberts Ice Rink. After falling behind 1-0 in the first period, the Gusties rallied for three unanswered goals to earn the victory.

Gustavus got goals from Ross Ring-Jarvi, Ryan Johnson and a late empty net goal from Nate Paulsen. Gustavus goaltender John McLean made 16 saves, including several key stops in the third period to earn the victory between the pipes.

The team is now scheduled to face St. Norbert College in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 10 at the Cornerstone Center in Green Bay with a trip to the Division III Frozen Four on the line.
