The Mankato Free Press and education reporter Amanda Dyslin recently featured President Rebecca Bergman with a front page story in the paper’s Tuesday, July 8 print edition. President Bergman became Gustavus Adolphus College’s 17th president and first female president when she officially began her tenure on July 1, 2014.

Gustavus Adolphus College alumnus and current member of the College’s Board of Trustees, Rev. John Hogenson ’81, has been named the new Senior Pastor at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. Hogenson will begin his new duties on August 1, 2014.

Dr. Chad Winterfeldt, who has served as an organist and adjunct instructor in the Music Department at Gustavus Adolphus College since 2004, has been named the College’s new Cantor. Dr. Winterfeldt will begin his new duties on August 1, 2014.

The Loeb Classical Library Foundation at Harvard University has awarded a Loeb Classical Library Fellowship to Gustavus Adolphus College Professor of Classics Eric Dugdale for the 2014-15 academic year. Dugdale received the $34,000 fellowship for his book project on empathy in Greek tragedy in performance.
