Men’s Hockey Advances to Frozen Four

The Gustavus Adolphus College men’s hockey team defeated UW-Superior 2-0 in an NCAA quarterfinal game on Saturday, March 14 to advance to the NCAA Division III Frozen Four in Lake Placid, N.Y.

The Gustavus Adolphus College men’s hockey team defeated UW-Superior 2-0 in an NCAA quarterfinal game on Saturday, March 14 to advance to the NCAA Division III Frozen Four in Lake Placid, N.Y.

First year student Ross Ring-Jarvi and junior David Martinson scored the two goals for the Gusties. Senior goaltender Matt Lopes made 33 saves in net to hand UW-Superior its first shutout of the season.

The Gusties are now 18-10 on the season and will be making the program’s first appearance in the Frozen Four since 1982. The Gusties will face UW-Stout in a national semifinal on Friday, March 20.
