Gustavus Adolphus College will begin its 152nd academic year on Tuesday, Sept. 3, when classes commence for the College’s 2,500 full-time students.
President Jack R. Ohle will welcome all students and staff back to campus at the College’s Opening Convocation at 10 a.m. on Tuesday in Christ Chapel. The College’s Opening Convocation is open to the public.
The first two months of the academic year are always some of the busiest months of the year at Gustavus. Here are some of the events that will take place on campus in September and October:
September 3: First day of Fall Semester classes
September 13: Fall Research Symposium, 1:30 p.m., Nobel Hall of Science
September 19: Reading in Common Lecture, Tori Murden McClure, 7 p.m., Christ Chapel
September 20: Nobel Conference Preview Lecture with Dr. S. James Gates, 2:30 p.m., Alumni Hall
September 23-29: Homecoming Week
September 28: Homecoming Football Game vs. St. Olaf College, 1:30 p.m., Hollingsworth Field
October 1-2: Nobel Conference, The Universe at Its Limits
October 12-13: Family Weekend
