Justin Helps ’11 to Host Khan Academy Facebook Live Session on A.P. Physics
Are you a high school student taking Advanced Placement Physics? Gustavus Adolphus College alumnus Justin Helps ’11 will be hosting a Facebook Live session on Thursday, Sept. 22 at 6 p.m. central time to discuss the skills necessary to succeed in A.P. Physics. The live coaching session will include tips and strategies for success as well as a question-and-answer period.
Steve Groskreutz ’12: Analyzing a Career Path in Chemistry

Gustavus Alumni to Host Inaugural Northstar Science Film Festival this Weekend
Two Gustavus Adolphus College alumni are combining science and film-making in a new film festival taking place this weekend. Thursday, September 15, marks the beginning of the Northstar Science Film Festival, a new science-entertainment film festival being launched by festival chairman and founder Ryan Johnson and director of communications Kevin Dragseth, both members of the Gustavus Class of 1996.
Gustavus Jumps Two Spots in U.S. News and World Report
Gustavus is ranked No. 77 on U.S. News & World Report’s 2017 Best National Liberal Arts Colleges list, which was released on Tuesday, Sept. 13. This is two spots higher than Gustavus placed in the publication’s 2016 rankings, when the College was ranked No. 79 among liberal arts colleges.

Geography Professor Anna Versluis Returns from Fulbright Placement in Haiti
Gustavus Adolphus College geography professor Anna Versluis is back on campus this fall after spending a nine-month term in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, through the Fulbright Scholar Program. During her time in the Caribbean nation on the island of Hispaniola, Versluis taught a course at the University of Haiti and conducted research on land-use change and different agricultural systems.
