English Professor Joyce Sutphen Appears on A Prairie Home Companion

Gustavus Adolphus College Professor of English Joyce Sutphen was a guest on Garrison Keillor's live radio variety show, A Prairie Home Companion, on Saturday, Oct. 18. Keillor recited Sutphen's poem "Girl on a Tractor", while Sutphen read several of her poems including "Autumn Again", "My Legendary Father", "A Dream of Empty Fields", and "Say It".

Undefeated Football Team to Host No. 22 St. John’s

The Gustavus Adolphus College football team is off to a 6-0 start for the first time since 1987--the last year that the program won the MIAC title. The team's schedule gets significantly tougher starting this Saturday when the Gusties will host No. 22 ranked St. John's at 1 p.m. at Hollingsworth Field.

Gustavus Honor Band Expands for 2014 Festival

The Annual Gustavus Honor Band Festival and Concert at Gustavus Adolphus College will celebrate its 26th year on Nov. 2-3, with the arrival of more than 230 high school musicians from 58 high schools in Minnesota, Illinois, Wisconsin and South Dakota. The festival concert will take place at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 3 in Christ Chapel.

The Nobel Conference gives Gustavus Adolphus College students unique access to some of the most renowned scientists in the world. While all Gustavus students have the luxury of attending the Conference during their four years, a select handful of students get the opportunity to serve as student hosts for one of the speakers while they are on campus. Gustavus Inaugurates Rebecca M. Bergman as its 17th President

Gustavus faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends, the Board of Trustees, delegates from peer institutions of higher education, and several special guests, including Governor Mark Dayton and U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar, filled Christ Chapel on Friday afternoon as Gustavus officially inaugurated Rebecca M. Bergman as the College's 17th President.

Football Team Takes Undefeated Record Into Homecoming Game
