The Theatre and Dance Department at Gustavus Adolphus College is proud to present Hair, the American tribal love-rock musical with book and lyrics by James Rando and Gerome Ragni with music by Galt MacDermot. Directed by Amy Seham, Hair will be performed in the Anderson Theatre on Feburary 21, 22, 28 and March 1 at 8 p.m. with matinee performances on February 23 and March 2 at 2 p.m.

First produced in 1968, this iconoclastic anti-war musical is now a classic bursting with unforgettable songs. Since the ‘60’s, the Fifth Dimension crooned Aquarius, Three Dog Night rocked Easy to be Hard, and the Muppets did their own thing with Good Morning Starshine! In this production, Gustavus students will bring their own idealism and energy to the stage in this fresh production.

Brian Evans ’07, returns to Anderson Theatre as an alumni guest artist in the 2014 production of Hair. Since graduating from Gustavus, Evans has enjoyed a breadth of experience ranging from feature-film acting to dancing with Stuart Pimsler Dance & Theater, from summers performing as a singer/dancer to community engagement opportunities,  from teaching at the Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists and Young Dance to the medical field. He has worked with more than 30 directors/choreographers on more then 100 pieces and earned critical acclaim as the 2009 Star Tribune A|E Highlight Top Five Dance Event and the 2010 Sage award by a panel of his peers for Outstanding Performer.
