Gustavus Adolphus College is once again ranked among the top 100 liberal arts colleges in the nation according to the latest rankings released by U.S. News & World Report. The magazine, which has been ranking colleges and universities for more than 30 years, ranks Gustavus 85th on its “Best National Liberal Arts Colleges” list for 2013.

Released to the public on Wednesday, Sept. 12 on USNews.com, the rankings are scheduled to be published in U.S. News & World Report’s guidebook, The Best Colleges 2013, which will hit newsstands and book stores on Tuesday, Sept. 18.

A total of 239 liberal arts colleges are included in this year’s U.S. News & World Report rankings. The top 181 schools are ranked one through 181, while another 58 schools are listed alphabetically under the label “Second Tier” schools.

The rankings distributed by U.S. News & World Report are formulated with the use of statistical data and peer assessment scores from similar liberal arts colleges. Areas that the magazine uses to compare schools include undergraduate academic reputation, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, graduation rate performance, and alumni giving.
