At 2 p.m. Sunday, May 29, the class of 2011 will receive their bachelor of arts degrees from Gustavus Adolphus College during commencement exercises at Hollingsworth Field. As of 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Gustavus officials have decided that the ceremony will take place outside as originally planned.
No ticket is required if the ceremony is held outdoors. If weather moves the ceremony inside, each student will be given three tickets for family and friends to watch the ceremony live inside Lund Center. An overflow area will be available for people to watch a telecast of the ceremony. For those unable to attend this year’s commencement, the ceremony will be webcast live at gustavus.edu/events/commencement.
Graduates will receive their diplomas from the faculty chair in their respective majors, a tradition that began in 1973.
