Gustavus Sorority to Host Battle of the Bands for Charity Posted on November 1st, 2010 by

The Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority at Gustavus Adolphus College is hosting its first annual Battle of the Bands event at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12 in Alumni Hall. The event will raise money for the Robbie Page Memorial Fund and Gillette Children’s Hospital of Minneapolis.

The benefit show will feature bands from the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, as well as St. Peter, Northfield, and New Ulm. Participating bands include Down to Funk, ¡Flash Bandango!, Foreman, Moe Merkin and the Electric Pussy, No Thanks to You, Polis, Summer Says Hello, and Peter and the Magic Tone.

Tickets for the event are $5 and can be purchased at the door. Pre-sale t-shirts will be for sale in the campus center the week before the event for $5. For more information about this event, contact Gustavus student Kelsey Manning at Rockin4Robbie@gustavus.edu.

The Robbie Page Memorial Fund is the Tri-Sigma sorority’s national philanthropic platform, and has been since 1954. The Fund supports children’s play therapy in hospitals across the United States.
