First-Year Students Receive Warm Welcome to Campus Posted on September 3rd, 2010 by

The Gustie Greeters and Gus the Lion welcome a first-year student to campus.

Approximately 640 first-year and transfer students arrived in St. Peter on the morning of Friday, Sept. 3 to begin their college journey at Gustavus Adolphus College.

As is tradition, families made their way up the hill on College Avenue in their vehicles to an energetic group of Gustie Greeters who were eager to welcome their new fellow students to campus.

President Jack and Kris Ohle, along with other members of the Gustavus community were also present on Friday morning to help usher in the class of 2014.

As part of another tradition, members of the Gustavus football team helped families unload their vehicles and move belongings into the students’ respective residence hall rooms.
