The Diversity Center and the Diversity Leadership Council at Gustavus Adolphus College will give out their annual Diversity Awards at a 6 p.m. banquet on Saturday, May 8 in Alumni Hall, located in the O.J. Johnson Student Union.
The Diversity Awards are bestowed annually upon those who strive to secure a campus environment that promotes social justice and works to create a non-oppressive environment at Gustavus Adolphus College.
Individuals being honored this Saturday include Assistant Professor of Religion Thia Cooper, senior student Rebekah Schulz, and senior student Abdul Suleyman. Campus events being recognized include the Hmong New Year Celebration by the Asian Cultures Club and African Night Celebration by the Pan Afrikan Student Organization.
