Women’s Basketball Clinches Share of MIAC Title Posted on February 18th, 2010 by

Sophomore Molly Geske led all scorers Wednesday night with 17 points.

The Gustavus Adolphus College women’s basketball team clinched a share of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) championship on Wednesday night with a 66-56 victory over St. Thomas at Gus Young Court.

Gustavus sophomore Molly Geske led all scorers with 17 points, while senior guard Bri Radtke added 14 points. Senior Julia Schultz and first-year player Abby Rothenbuehler also scored in double figures with 12 and 11 points respectively.  

This is the second women’s basketball conference championship for the Gusties in school history. Both titles (2003 and 2010) have come with current head coach Mickey Haller at the helm.

The Gusties finished the season with a conference record of 18-4 and will be the No. 2 seed in the upcoming MIAC Playoffs. The team will host a semifinal game on Wednesday, Feb. 24 at Gus Young Court.
