Discover Saint Peter Celebration Set for Saturday Posted on November 12th, 2009 by

Highway 169With the reconstruction of Highway 169 nearing completion, a “Discover Saint Peter Holiday Celebration” is planned for Saturday, Nov. 14 along Minnesota Avenue from Dodd Avenue to Jefferson Avenue.

The greater community is invited to join local, state, and federal officials for a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. at the intersection of Minnesota Avenue and West Park Row. Other family activities will take place between 12-5 p.m. and include:

  • Free carriage rides along Minnesota Avenue from 12-4 p.m.
  • Shopping promotions
  • Children’s scavenger hunt and games
  • Holiday window decorating contest
  • Food and refreshments
  • Brass quartet performance of Christmas music
  • Photos with Santa Clause at Total Entertainment from 2-4 p.m.
  • Free matinee showings (12:30 and 3 p.m.) of Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian at Saint Peter Cinema Five
  • Live reindeer
  • Caroling contest
