Football Team Earns 34-33 Homecoming Victory

The Gustavus Adolphus College football team came back from a 33-22 defecit against Pacific Lutheran University to earn a thrilling 34-33 victory. Gustavus quarterback Jordan Becker connected with sophomore Elliott Herdina on a one-yard touchdown pass with 12 seconds remaining for the winning score.

Gustavus quarterback Jordan Becker connected with sophomore Elliott Herdina on a one-yard touchdown pass with 12 seconds remaining for the winning score.

Becker had a career day as he completed 26-of-41 passes for 310 yards and five touchdown passes. Herdina caught 11 passes for 141 yards and two touchdowns.

The Gustavus comeback ruined a record day for Pacific Lutheran wide receiver Greg Ford. Ford broke a school record for receiving yards in a single game by catching 13 passes for 292 yards and four touchdowns.

The win improves the team’s overall record to 2-3. The team will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 17 when it hosts Carleton at 1 p.m.
