The 11th annual Hunger and Homelessness Week to raise awareness at Gustavus Adolphus College will take place Sunday, Nov. 16 through Thursday, Nov. 20.
The signature event of Gustavus’ Hunger and Homelessness Week is the annual “Sleep Out,” where Gustavus students simulate the experiences of homeless people by sleeping outside of Christ Chapel without returning to their residence hall rooms or apartments, going without showering, and eating only food that others provide.
The complete schedule of events during Hunger and Homelessness Week is as follows:
- Sunday, Nov. 16 — Sleep Out begins / 8 p.m.
- Monday, Nov. 17 — Pizza and Poverty including a speaker from the Minnesota Coalition for the Homeless / 8:30 p.m. / Courtyard Cafe
- Tuesday, Nov. 18 — Homeless Against Homelessness skit and discussion / 7 p.m. / Courtyard Café
- Wednesday, Nov. 19 — Hunger Banquet / 6 p.m. / President’s Dining Room (R.S.V.P. required)

Hunger and Homelessness Week is sponsored by Gustavus’s Action Supporting All People (ASAP).
