Have you heard? Did you see? Gustavus Adolphus College was featured in the new CBS television sitcom “Love Monkey.”

A Gustavus sweatshirt (or “hoodie”) was worn by one of the lead characters in the Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006 episode of the show. This occurred during one of the pick-up street basketball scenes. Similar sightings, or name-dropping, may show up in future episodes. In fact, some college staff members have been contacted for additional Gustavus-wear. One of the show’s executive producers is John Wirth, a 1975 Gustavus graduate.

Wirth received a Distinguished Alumni Citation for his achievements in the field of entertainment. Now an executive producer and writer, Wirth has built an impressive list of credits as story editor, scriptwriter, producer, and “showrunner.” Prior to “Love Monkey,” Wirth’s name has appeared in the credits of “Remington Steele,” “Nash Bridges,” and “The District.”

More on the show is available online.
