Joey Taylor ’13 Receives Fulbright Grant to Russia
Gustavus Adolphus College senior Joey Taylor ’13 has been awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship Grant to Russia for 2013. The Fulbright Program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government and is designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries.
Student-Faculty Collaboration: Ian Shay ’13 and Angelique Dwyer
Students and faculty members at Gustavus Adolphus College are collaborating on scholarly research more so than ever before. One current example is senior Ian Shay '13 and professor Angelique Dwyer, who are in the middle of a research project on Mexican singer-songwriter Lila Downs.
Two Gusties Named Fulbright Scholars
Gustavus Adolphus College alumna Claire Sagstuen ’11 and current senior Jean-Paul Noel ’12 have both been named Fulbright Scholars for 2012. Sagstuen will be teaching English in Bulgaria next year, while Noel will conduct research in Switzerland.
Phil Helt Chosen as Commencement Speaker
Gustavus Adolphus College senior Phil Helt has been chosen by a committee of faculty, staff, and students to speak at the College’s commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 29. Helt will graduate with a degree in Communication Studies and History.
Mellema Awarded Rossing Physics Scholarship
Gustavus Adolphus College senior Daniel Mellema has been named a Rossing Physics Scholar Honorable Mention for 2010-11.
Gusties Descend on Capitol in St. Paul
Forty students, six administrators, and one Board of Trustee member from Gustavus Adolphus College spent Thursday, March 5 at the Capitol in St. Paul in support of the State Grant Program.
