Rachelle Dosch has been named the head volleyball coach at Gustavus Adolphus College. Dosch, a 2007 graduate of the University of St. Thomas, replaces Kari Eckheart who resigned to accept the position of Assistant Director of Athletics for Student Athlete Services at the College.

Friends of the Linnaeus Arboretum will host its annual Summer in the Garden benefit event from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, June 27 at the Melva Lind Interpretive Center on the campus of Gustavus Adolphus College. President Jack R. Ohle announced Wednesday that Thomas M. Crady, Ph.D., has accepted the position of Vice President for Enrollment Management at Gustavus Adolphus College. He will begin the position on July 15, 2010.

Dr. Gregory Aune, long-time conductor and artistic director of the Gustavus Choir, has been selected by the Wisconsin State Music Association as conductor of the 2010 Wisconsin Honors Choir.

Michael Middleton has been named the new head coach of the men’s soccer program at Gustavus Adolphus College. Middleton, a 1983 graduate of Leeds Carnegie College of Physical Education and Recreation in the United Kingdom, is replacing Larry Zelenz, who resigned in May after serving as the men’s soccer coach for the past 24 years.

Leila Brammer, Associate Professor of Communication Studies at Gustavus Adolphus College, received the 2010 Edgar M. Carlson Award for Distinguished Teaching during the College’s commencement exercises on Sunday, May 30.

Don Scheese, professor of English and environmental studies at Gustavus Adolphus College, has been awarded a Fulbright grant for the 2010-11 academic year. Scheese will teach courses in American Studies in the Ukraine in the spring of 2011 during his year-long sabbatical.
