The Gustavus Adolphus College Campus Activities Board (CAB) along with the student group Queers and Allies recently produced an “It Gets Better” video in support of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender youth and teenagers.

Minneapolis based bands Quietdrive and Cedar Avenue will appear in concert at Gustavus Adolphus College’s Alumni Hall at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 16. Tickets are now on sale to the general public for $5 at gustavustickets.com.

Dinesh D’Souza, former policy analyst in the Reagan White House and current President of The King’s College in New York, will speak at the 2011 Lindau Symposium at Gustavus Adolphus College Thursday, April 14.

The poetry reading featuring Minnesota poet and anthologist William Reichard scheduled for Wednesday, April 6 has been canceled due to an illness of the scheduled guest. For the second straight year, the Gustavus Adolphus College forensics team has earned a top 10 national ranking at the American Forensic Association’s National Individual Events Tournament (AFA-NIET).

Gustavus Adolphus College students and staff are encouraged to attend an open house for the new Center for Servant Leadership (CSL) from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 6. The CSL is located on the main floor of the O.J. Johnson Student Union.

The 24th annual convention of the Gustavus Adolphus College Association of Congregations will be held Saturday, April 9. Gustavus will host pastors and delegates from the more than 540 Evangelical Lutheran Church in America congregations from the state and across the country that are current member congregations of the association.

Gustavus Adolphus College junior ACS chemistry major Steve Groskreutz is the recipient of a 2011 Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship, the premier undergraduate award for students pursuing careers in the fields of mathematics, the natural sciences, and engineering.

Gustavus Adolphus College has selected The Wolf at Twilight: An Indian Elder’s Journey through a Land of Ghosts and Shadows by Kent Nerburn as its Reading in Common book for the 2011-12 academic year.

The Gustavus Adolphus College Chemistry Club will host elementary students in grades one through six on Saturday, April 9 for the annual Science on Saturday event.
