The Hillstrom Museum of Art at Gustavus Adolphus College will present Permanent? Senior Show 2008, an exhibition featuring the work of 12 senior studio art majors at the college. The show will be on display from Saturday, May 3 through Sunday, June 1 with an opening reception scheduled for 4-7 p.m. May 3.

This exhibition is a culminating event in the studio art major’s curriculum and a required component of the major. On display are works by Danny Blacker, Stephanie Buresh, Erin Dinsmore, David Goldstein, Whit Hohman, Natalie Larson, Kasey Lyng, Shawna Mullen, Zach Newman, Kelsey Plucker, Nathan Schram, and Song Thao.

The works on display were created using a variety of different materials, including traditional media such as painting on canvas, watercolor or pastel on paper, ceramics, and photography in color and black and white. There are also prints, sculptural works made of pressed paper, and works of charcoal on paper.

The exhibition was selected from a group of submissions by each artist, and the jury process was carried out by the art faculty of the College.

The Hillstrom Museum of Art is located on the lower level of the College’s C. Charles Jackson Campus Center. Regular museum hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on weekdays and 1-5 p.m. on weekends. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
