Building on the success of the College’s Summer Speech Institute, Gustavus Adolphus College will expand its summer academic camp offerings, beginning in the summer of 2012.

During the summer of 2011, President Jack Ohle appointed Kristofer Kracht to the position of Director of Summer Academic Programs to work with Provost Mark Braun to build programs of the highest academic quality. Kracht is the director of the College’s nationally recognized forensics program, and has led the effort to develop several unique summer programs for high school students.

“With the resources we have available here at Gustavus in the form of outstanding facilities and gifted and dedicated educators, we can be the leader when it comes to summer academic programs in Southern Minnesota and eventually, nationally,” Kracht said. “We’re excited to offer many of these camps for the first time this summer and to see them grow during the next several years.”
