Gustavus to Host Science on Saturday

The Gustavus Adolphus College Chemistry Club will host between 80 and 100 elementary students in grades one through six on Saturday, April 17 for the annual Science on Saturday event.

The Gustavus Adolphus College Chemistry Club will host between 80 and 100 elementary students in grades one through six on Saturday, April 17 for the annual Science on Saturday event.

Students from St. Peter, Le Sueur, Mankato, Nicollet, Cleveland, and other surrounding communities will have the opportunity to witness science demonstrations and take part in hands-on science experiments led by Gustavus students from the chemistry, biology, physics, and geology clubs.

The full schedule for the event is as follows:

  • 8:15 a.m. / Arrival and check-in / Nobel Hall of Science Atrium
  • 8:30 a.m. / Welcome and introduction / Wallenberg Auditorium (Nobel Hall)
  • 8:40 a.m. / Session 1
  • 9:20 a.m. / Session 2
  • 10 a.m. / Break for liquid nitrogen ice cream treats
  • 10:30 a.m. / Session 3
  • 11:10 a.m. / Session 4
  • 12 p.m. / Check-out / Wallenberg Auditorium
