Peter Krause, a 1987 graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College, will star in the new NBC one-hour drama Parenthood, which premieres at 9 p.m. Central Time Tuesday, March 2.

The show is inspired by the box-office hit of the same name and will introduce audiences to the very large, colorful, and imperfect Braverman family. Krause will play the role of Adam, the oldest Braverman sibling who must relinquish his preconceived expectations about what constitutes a normal family when he and his wife Kristina (Monica Potter) and teenage daughter, Haddie (Sarah Ramos), learn that their eccentric son and little brother is diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome.

Other co-stars on the show include Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls), Craig T. Nelson (Coach), and Erika Christensen (Traffic).

Krause is perhaps best known for his portrayal of funeral director Nate Fisher in the HBO series Six Feet Under. Krause starred in the show from 2001 to 2005 and received several award nominations including three Emmy nominations.

More recently, Krause played the young lawyer Nick George on ABC’s drama Dirty Sexy Money alongside veteran actor Donald Sutherland. Krause also spent three years from 1998 to 2000 portraying the character Casey McCall on the ABC comedy Sports Night.
