Karith Foster will deliver her lecture, Cultivating a Culture of Inclusivity, at the Gustavus MLK Day Celebration on Monday, Jan. 15.

On Monday, January 15, Gustavus will celebrate Martin Luther King Day by welcoming Karith Foster for the College’s annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Lecture.

The annual celebration emphasizes the continuing struggle for civil rights in the United States and around the world. Foster is a nationally known humorist, speaker, and author who founded Inversity Solutions, a consultancy whose motto is “Diversity Without Division.”

Foster’s MLK Day lecture is called Cultivating a Culture of Inclusivity. By encompassing Dr. King’s passion for authentic communication and acceptance of all, Foster will honor, recognize, and celebrate the uniqueness and individuality of everyone, and illuminate how we each have the power and ability to achieve the dream and mission Dr. King wished for us all. The commemoration ceremony begins at 10 a.m. in Christ Chapel and is free and open to the public.
