Thanks to the generosity of more than 450 alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends of the College, Gustavus raised $133,296 for the College’s Annual Fund on Wednesday, Nov. 12 during its annual Give to Gustavus Day. The total amount raised exceeded the goal of $100,000 and shattered last year’s Give to Gustavus Day total of just more than $65,000.
“Thank you very much for this year’s incredible success,” said Vice President for Advancement Tom Young. “We were able to double last year’s total, and to have nearly 500 donors is simply incredible. This is fast becoming a great annual tradition and is a testament to the culture of philanthropy at the heart of Gustavus.”
The Gustavus Annual Fund helps students and families cover the cost of the Gustavus experience and it also supports all current operational needs of the institution. Each dollar given to the Annual Fund allows the College to have increased flexibility in providing the highest quality liberal arts education to our students.
Give to Gustavus Day was inspired by Minnesota’s Give to the Max Day as a way for the Gustavus community to come together in support of the College. The event will continue as an annual tradition, and will typically be held one day prior to Give to the Max Day.
