Magnuson Student Leadership and Service Awards Announced

The annual Paul Magnuson Student Leadership and Service Awards were presented to recipients on Sunday, May 4 as part of the College’s 2014 Night of Distinction. Established in 1991, and annually supported by the Hon. Paul Magnuson ’59, chief judge of the U.S. Federal District Court in St. Paul and former trustee of the College (1986-1993), the awards recognize the significant contributions that individual students and student groups make to campus life.

Gustavus to Host National High School Speech Tournament

More than 700 high school speech competitors from approximately 125 high schools representing 33 different states will descend upon St. Peter and Gustavus Adolphus College for the National Individual Events Tournament of Champions (NIETOC) on May 9-11.

Arne Dahl is 2014 Out of Scandinavia Artist in Residence

The Gustavus Adolphus College Department of Scandinavian Studies will welcome Swedish author Arne Dahl to campus May 10-17 as the College’s Out of Scandinavia Artist-in-Residence for 2014.

Seniors to Showcase Artwork at Hillstrom Museum

Three senior studio art majors at Gustavus Adolphus College will have their work displayed at the College's Hillstrom Museum of Art beginning May 3 through June 1. The exhibition is titled Emergence and will feature an opening reception from 4 to 6 p.m. as part of the College's Honors Day festivities on Saturday, May 3.

On Saturday, May 3, Gustavus Adolphus College will host Honors Day, an annual event that recognizes the academic excellence and achievement of hundreds of its students.

Fourth Annual Books in Bloom Event is May 2-4

Gustavus Library Associates (GLA) will host its fourth annual Books in Bloom event at the Folke Bernadotte Memorial Library on May 2-4. The event is free and open to the public.
