Forensics Showcase is Tuesday Posted on December 12th, 2011 by

Have you read about the success of the Gustavus Forensics Program and wondered what it’s all about? Tuesday, Dec. 13 is your chance to see team members in action when the program hosts its annual showcase event from 5-6 p.m. in the atrium of Beck Academic Hall.

Seven different team members will perform events in public address, oral interpretation of literature, and limited preparation. Team members scheduled to perform include seniors Allegra Birdseye, Sam Hemmerich, and Chloe Radcliffe, junior Hannah Engel, sophomore Shelby Wilds, and first-year students Kate Spaulding and Courtney Train. Radcliffe is the defending national champion in the Prose Interpretation event at the American Forensic Association’s National Individual Events Tournament (AFA-NIET).

So far this season, the program’s highlights include a first place finish at South Dakota State’s Jackrabbit Jousts, a first place finish at Minnesota State Mankato’s Larry Schnoor Invitational, and a third place showing at Bradley University’s prestigious L.E. Norton Memorial Tournament. In April of 2012, the team will be looking to earn its third straight top 10 finish at the AFA-NIET.
