Justyn Dow '08

The Campus Activities Board at Gustavus Adolphus College has announced that musician and Gustavus alumnus Justyn Dow ’08 will be the opening act at the Friday, April 13 concert headlined by Gavin DeGraw at Lund Arena.

Dow is a rising talent in the current sea of independent musicians. His refreshing and edgy sound combines elements of rock, blues, Americana and hip-hop. With a new EP set to release in May, Dow continues to pursue a direction that stretches the boundaries of the rock/pop genre. Dow’s 2011 release Dim Light Shining features five tracks including What She’s Doing Now, A Day in the Sun, Rescue Me featuring Igniting Impulses, Waiting For You, and Dance Tonight. Dow’s upcoming 7-track EP was recorded in Nashville, Tenn., with well-known producer Neilson Hubbard.

“I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be warming the stage for Gavin DeGraw on Friday, April 13 at Gustavus Adolphus College,” Dow wrote on his website. “I’ll have about 35 minutes with the full band – plenty of time to throw some new stuff at those who can attend.”

Doors at Lund Arena will open at 7 p.m. with the concert starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are currently on sale and may be purchased online at gustavustickets.com or in person at the Student Activities Office information desk on the lower level of the C. Charles Jackson Campus Center. Tickets purchased in advance are $13 for Gustavus students and staff and $18 for the general public. If tickets are still available the night of the concert, they will be on sale at the door for $20.
