Men’s Basketball Clinches Share of MIAC Title

The Gustavus Adolphus College men’s basketball team clinched at least a share of the MIAC regular season title on Wednesday night with a 61-43 victory over Concordia College in Moorhead. The victory keeps the Gusties one game ahead of St. Thomas for first place in the conference standings with one game to play.

The Gustavus Adolphus College men’s basketball team clinched at least a share of the MIAC regular season title on Wednesday night with a 61-43 victory over Concordia College in Moorhead. It is the 17th MIAC regular season title for the program and the seventh under current head coach Mark Hanson.

Senior guard Seth Anderson led the way offensively with 18 points on 7-of-17 shooting from the field. Junior forward Blake Shay added 14 points off the bench including four three-pointers on the night.

The victory keeps the Gusties one game ahead of St. Thomas for first place in the conference standings with one game to play.

Gustavus can clinch the title outright and the No. 1 seed in the MIAC Playoffs on Saturday, Feb. 18 at Gus Young Court with a win over Bethel. That game is scheduled to tip-off at 3 p.m.
