Gustavus Adolphus College senior Ross Ring-Jarvi is the focus of a feature story recently posted on NCAA.com. Ring-Jarvi, an Anoka native and four-year member of the Gustavus men’s hockey team, decided last summer to attempt to bike across the United States.

With his parents by his side, Ring-Jarvi began the journey in Newport, Ore., and finished the 3,210-mile trek in Stamford, Conn., 23 days later.

“Teammates and friends would ask, ‘Why are you doing this again?’” Ring-Jarvi said. “I didn’t really have a great answer other than I had nothing else to do at that time of the year. It was something fun to check off the bucket list.”

Ringo is a great kid. I have at least 5 conversations with him a week about the upcoming games, how practice is going, how our softball team will look this year. He is a true Golden Gustie and I will miss him after he leaves. Great story Ross….
