Football Team Earns 37-0 Victory over Hamline

The Gustavus Adolphus College football team earned its first victory of the season on Saturday, Oct. 8 when it defeated Hamline University 37-0.

The Gustavus Adolphus College football team earned its first victory of the season on Saturday, Oct. 8 when it defeated Hamline University 37-0.

Sophomore running back Jeffrey Dubose carried 21 times for 148 yards and two touchdowns and added a receiving touchdown from senior quarterback Logan Becker. Becker completed 10-of-16 passes for 139 yards and two touchdowns in the victory. Senior wide receiver Elliott Herdina caught three passes for 45 yards and a touchdown.

Senior defensive back Mitch Kleinschrodt led the defense with seven tackles. Senior defensive lineman Dane Mellgren made five tackles including a sack and added a forced fumble.

The Gusties are now 1-4 overall and 1-2 in the MIAC. They will host Bethel University at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15.
