Take The Hill Triathlon Scheduled for May 7

The Epsilon Pi Alpha fraternity at Gustavus Adolphus College will host the fourth annual Take The Hill Triathlon Saturday, May 7. All Proceeds from the event will benefit the nonprofit organization Insulindependence.

The Epsilon Pi Alpha fraternity at Gustavus Adolphus College will host the fourth annual Take The Hill Triathlon Saturday, May 7. All Proceeds from the event will benefit the nonprofit organization Insulindependence.

The triathlon will consist of a 500-yard swim in the Natatorium of the Lund Center for Physical Education and Health, a 12.5 mile bike ride through St. Peter and the surrounding countryside, and a 3.3 mile run through the Gustavus campus. Last year 118 individuals and 18 relay teams competed in the event.

Registration for the Take The Hill Triathlon is open until Monday, April 18 and can be done online at takethehilltri.com. Cost is $30 for Gustavus students and $55 for non-students. Student relay teams can register for $45 and non-student relay teams for $80. More information including the event’s schedule and race details can be found online at takethehilltri.com.

Insulindependence was founded in 2011 by Gustavus and Epsilon Pi Alpha alumnus Peter Nerothin. A nonprofit public benefit corporation based in San Diego, Calif., Insulindependence aims to change diabetic lives through adventure travel, educational outreach, and web-based community support. The organization operates though a global network of outdoor enthusiasts working together in an effort to promote healthy, proactive lifestyles to diabetics lacking financial resources, positive role models, and adequate guidance in professional healthcare.
