Forensics Team Defends Title at Larry Schnoor Invitational

It was a busy weekend for the Gustavus Adolphus College forensics team, as the team participated in the Larry Schnoor Invitational at Minnesota State, Mankato on Saturday, Oct. 16 before turning around and hosting the Bill Robertz Invitational at Gustavus on Sunday, Oct. 17.

Christmas in Christ Chapel Tickets Now On Sale

Tickets for the annual Christmas in Christ Chapel celebration at Gustavus Adolphus College are now on sale. This year’s celebration will be held Dec. 3-5 and is themed “A Renaissance Nativity.”

Dancing With the Profs Set for Nov. 6

The Gustavus Adolphus College Campus Activities Board has announced that the fifth annual “Dancing With the Profs” event will take place at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6 in Alumni Hall, located on the upper level of the O.J. Johnson Student Union.

Jo Ellen Fair to Deliver 2010 Raoul Wallenberg Lecture

Jo Ellen Fair, professor of journalism and mass communication at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, will give this year’s Raoul Wallenberg Memorial Lecture at Gustavus Adolphus College. The lecture is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8 in Wallenberg Auditorium.

Gustavus Announces New Monthly Program on KNUJ

Gustavus Adolphus College is pleased to announce the launching of a new regularly scheduled program on KNUJ Radio (AM 860) called “The Gustavus Journal.” The show will air from 1:15 to 1:30 p.m. the third Tuesday of every month beginning Tuesday, Oct. 19.

Forensics Team to Host Bill Robertz Invite

The Gustavus Adolphus College forensics team will host the Bill Robertz Invitational Sunday, Oct. 17. Thirteen teams will compete in the tournament including Bethany Lutheran, Bethel, Concordia-Moorhead, Gustavus, Hastings College, Iowa State, Minnesota State, Mankato, North Dakota State, Ripon, South Dakota State, Wartburg, and Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

Two Alumni Honored by Minnesota Choral Directors Association

Gustavus alumni Thomas Hassig ’76 and Brian Ohnsorg ’97 will both be honored by the American Choral Directors Association of Minnesota in November.

Alumna Named GLSEN Educator of the Year

Ferial Pearson, a 2001 graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College and an English teacher at Omaha South High School in Omaha, Neb., was recently named 2010 Educator of the Year by the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN).

Dahlke Brothers to Receive GACAC Service Award

Brothers Travis and Nathan Dahlke will receive the 2010 Gustavus Adolphus College Association of Congregations (GACAC) Service Award at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 18 in Christ Chapel.

Dubose Leads Football Team to Second Straight Win

First-year student Jeffrey Dubose rushed for 202 yards including an 85-yard touchdown run to help the Gustavus Adolphus College football team improve to 3-2 overall and 2-1 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with a 42-14 victory over Hamline on Saturday, Oct. 9.
