The Gustavus Adolphus College forensics team will host the Bill Robertz Invitational Sunday, Oct. 17. Thirteen teams will compete in the tournament including Bethany Lutheran, Bethel, Concordia-Moorhead, Gustavus, Hastings College, Iowa State, Minnesota State, Mankato, North Dakota State, Ripon, South Dakota State, Wartburg, and Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Robertz is an Emeritus Professor of Communication Studies who taught at Gustavus from 1957 to 1995.
In conjunction with the tournament, the Gustavus forensics team will also host the second annual Gustavus Forensics Experience. The event allows high school students to spend the day at Gustavus with a goal of bridging the gap between high school and collegiate speech, showing students that they can still participate in this beneficial competitive co-curricular while in college. The Gustavus Forensics Experience also allows students the opportunity to watch performances by some of the most talented and decorated collegiate competitors in the country.
