Gustavus Coffee Goes Green

The color of the coffee served in the Gustavus Marketplace this year will still be black, but it will also be green – as in environmentally responsible.

Football Team to Open Season Saturday at Home

The Gustavus Adolphus College football team will open its 2010 season at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11 at Hollingsworth Field. The Gusties will welcome the Wartburg Knights to St. Peter for a non-conference game.

Obituary: Hazel Johnson, 91, Professor Emeritus of Nursing

Hazel M. Johnson, professor emeritus of nursing at Gustavus Adolphus College, passed away on Sept. 6 at the age of 91. Johnson served in the Gustavus Nursing Department from 1969 to 1981. Nobel Laureate Derek Walcott to Spend Three Weeks at Gustavus

Derek Walcott, the 1992 Nobel Prize winner in Literature, will complete a three-week residency at Gustavus Adolphus College from Sept. 20 through Oct. 6 as part of the College’s Rydell Professorship.

Three Exhibitions to Open at Hillstrom Museum Sept. 13

The Hillstrom Museum of Art at Gustavus Adolphus College will host three concurrent exhibitions beginning Monday, Sept. 13. Voices: Contemporary Ceramic Art from Sweden; ENNESBO; and FOCUS IN/ON: Henry Varnum Poor’s Autumn Still Life will all be on display through Nov. 7.
