Department of Theatre and Dance Presents The Arabian Nights

The Department of Theatre and Dance at Gustavus Adolphus College will present a compelling performance of The Arabian Nights, a play by Mary Zimmerman. Directed by Henry MacCarthy, performances of this production will be held April 22, 23, and 24 at 8:00 p.m. with a matinee performance on April 25 at 2:00 p.m.

Johnson-Tesch Receives Goldwater Honorable Mention

Gustavus Adolphus College sophomore Benjamin Johnson-Tesch has received honorable mention recognition from the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation.

Terry Morehouse Receives 2010 Covenant Award

The Covenant Award, bestowed annually to an individual who has made distinctive contributions which have strengthened the partnership between Gustavus Adolphus College and member congregations of the College’s Association of Congregations (GACAC), was presented to the Rev. Terry R. Morehouse on Saturday, April 17.

Alumna Wins Minnesota Book Award

Joy Lintelman, a 1980 alumna of Gustavus Adolphus College, received a Minnesota Book Award on Saturday, April 17 at St. Paul’s Crowne Plaza Hotel. Lintelman won in the General Nonfiction category for her book I Go to America: Swedish Women and Life of Mina Anderson.

Gustavus Breaks Ground for New Academic Building

Gustavus officials, including President Jack R. Ohle and Board of Trustees Chair Jim Gale, broke ground for a new state-of-the-art 125,000 square foot academic building on Friday, April 16.

Student Teachers Blogging from Barrow

For the second straight spring, a group of Gustavus Adolphus College education majors are completing a portion of their student teaching requirements in Barrow, Alaska – the northernmost point of the United States.

Gustavus Recognizes Newly Tenured Faculty

Gustavus Adolphus College recognized Brenda Kelly, Michele Koomen, Karl Larson, and San Skulrattanakulchai as newly tenured faculty members during its 10 a.m. daily worship service in Christ Chapel on Friday, April 16.

Motivational Speaker at Gustavus Wednesday

Bobby Petrocelli, a best-selling author and critically acclaimed motivational speaker, will speak at Gustavus Adolphus College at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 14 in Alumni Hall, located in the O.J. Johnson Student Union.

Gustavus to Host Association of Congregations Convention

The 23rd annual convention of the Gustavus Adolphus College Association of Congregations will be held Saturday, April 17. Gustavus will host pastors and delegates from the more than 500 Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) congregations from the state and across the country that are current member congregations of the association.

Gustavus to Host Science on Saturday

The Gustavus Adolphus College Chemistry Club will host between 80 and 100 elementary students in grades one through six on Saturday, April 17 for the annual Science on Saturday event.
