Department of Theatre and Dance Presents Urinetown

The Department of Theatre and Dance at Gustavus Adolphus College presents a witty performance of Mark Hollmann and Greg Kotis’ musical Urinetown. Directed by Amy Seham, performances will be held in Anderson Theatre on Feb. 19, 20, 26, and 27 at 8 p.m., with matinee performances on Feb. 21 and 28 at 2 p.m.

Gustavus Alumni Compete in World Bandy Championships

Several Gustavus Adolphus College alumni recently represented the United States of America at the 2010 World Bandy Championships in Moscow, Russia, Jan. 24-31.

Gustavus Wind Orchestra Home Concert is Saturday

Following its 16-day concert tour in Central Europe, the Gustavus Wind Orchestra and Conductor Douglas Nimmo will return to Christ Chapel for one final performance of the tour literature at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13. The wind orchestra’s home concert is free and open to the public.

Valentine’s Day Event Will Feature The Echo’s

Friends of the Linnaeus Arboretum will host its annual Valentine’s Day celebration at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13 in Alumni Hall, located in the O.J. Johnson Student Union.

Thursday Lecture to Focus on Music in the Holocaust

Dr. Nick Strimple, a professor, author, composer and internationally recognized expert on music in the Holocaust, will speak publicly at Gustavus Adolphus College Thursday, Feb. 11.

Alumnus Kurt Elling Wins Grammy

Kurt Elling, a 1989 graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College, took home his first Grammy Award Sunday, Jan. 31 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif.
