In response to the devastating earthquake in Haiti, one Gustavus Adolphus College January Interim Experience class is organizing a fundraising effort on campus.

Students in the class “Changing the World,” taught by Director of the Center for Vocational Reflection Chris Johnson, will be asking for free-will cash donations on Monday, Jan. 18 at several locations on campus.

Donations can be made outside the Market Place in the C. Charles Jackson Campus Center, at the Center for Vocational Reflection, and at Christ Chapel before and after the Rev. C.T. Vivian speaks during the Martin Luther King Day convocation.

Donations made on Jan. 18 will be given to the non-profit organization Lutheran World Relief.

Students in the class are also planning to organize a t-shirt drive in the coming weeks that will benefit an orphanage that was destroyed by the earthquake.

If you have questions or need more information about these fundraising efforts, contact student Claire Curran at ccurran@gustavus.edu.
