Ridley Named Semifinalist for National Scholar-Athlete Award

Gustavus senior football player T.J. Ridley has been selected as one of 154 semifinalists for the 2009 William V. Campbell Trophy by the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame. Ridley is a biology major with a 3.95 grade point average.

Gustavus to Host Swedish Filmmaker

Gustavus Adolphus College will host award-winning Swedish filmmaker Stefan Quinth on Monday, Oct. 12. Quinth and William Beyer, former education, collections, and programs director for the American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis, will screen their new film “Pretty Much 100% Scandinavian,” at 7 p.m. in room 127 of Confer Hall.

Football Team Tops Hamline in Two Overtimes

The Gustavus Adolphus College football team picked up its first victory of the season on Saturday, Sept. 19 with a 30-24 victory in two overtimes against Hamline University. The win gave head coach Peter Haugen his first collegiate victory and improved the team’s record to 1-1.
