Eleven Confirmed for Gubernatorial Candidates Forum

Gustavus Adolphus College will host a nonpartisan forum for officially declared Minnesota gubernatorial candidates at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9. The forum will be free and open to the public and will take place in Alumni Hall, located in the O.J. Johnson Student Union. The event will also be streamed live on the Gustavus website.

Gustavus Named a National Top 40 Private College Value

Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine recently released a special report ranking the top 50 private liberal arts colleges in the country by “best value.” Gustavus Adolphus College ranked 40th on the list.

Sacred Steps on the Camino Exhibit Now Open

An opening exhibition service to mark the beginning of the Sacred Steps on the Camino exhibit will take place at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4 in Christ Chapel at Gustavus Adolphus College. The exhibit will be on campus Nov. 4-18.

Tori Sanzone ’96 Returing for Weeklong Residency

Toriano Sanzone, a 1996 graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College, will return to his alma mater for a weeklong residency Nov. 9-12. Sanzone will give a public reading from his recently published book, Wolfkeeper, at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10 in the International Center Lounge.

Forensics Team Performs Well in Virginia

The Gustavus Adolphus College forensics team continued to assert itself as one of the top collegiate forensics programs in the country on Oct. 31-Nov. 1 at the Match Made in Heaven Tournament at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va.

17th A Royal Affair to Benefit Library at Gustavus

Gustavus Library Associates (GLA) will sponsor its 17th biennial library fundraiser, “Shine * A Royal Affair,” Saturday, Nov. 14 at the Minneapolis Convention Center. This dinner and auction event will benefit the endowment fund of the Folke Bernadotte Memorial Library on the Gustavus campus.

Kevin Kling Appearance Scheduled for Nov. 20

Kevin Kling, a nationally known playwright, storyteller, and author will make an appearance at Gustavus Adolphus College Friday, Nov. 20. Kling, a 1979 graduate of Gustavus, will read from his latest book, Holiday Inn.

Outstanding Employees Honored at Gustavus

Three members of the Gustavus Adolphus College community were honored during the Friday, Oct. 30 daily chapel service as recipients of the College's annual outstanding employee awards.

Gustavus Releases Commission Gustavus 150 Documents and Brand Video

Upon culmination of yearlong efforts in its Commission Gustavus 150 institutional planning process and the development of an updated institutional marketing position, the College today released key planning documents and a short brand video.

Jesus Justice Jazz Tour Coming to Gustavus

The Jesus Justice Jazz tour, a special follow-up event to the 2009 ELCA National Youth Gathering in New Orleans, will make a stop at Gustavus Adolphus College Saturday, Nov. 7.
