The Gustavus Adolphus College football team picked up its first victory of the season on Saturday, Sept. 19 with a 30-24 victory in two overtimes against Hamline University. The win gave head coach Peter Haugen his first collegiate victory and improved the team’s record to 1-1.
The Gusties sealed the victory when first year running back Kendrick Hall sprinted 25 yards for a touchdown on the team’s first play of the second overtime. Hamline missed a field goal attempt on its offensive possession of the second overtime.
Hall ran for 120 yards on 22 carries in the game. Senior quarterback Jordan Becker completed 13-of-22 passes for 148 yards and two touchdowns.
