The Gustavus Adolphus College men’s hockey team fell to Neumann College 4-1 in Saturday’s Division III National Championship game in Lake Placid, N.Y. The team finishes its season with a record of 19-11.

Gustavus junior David Martinson scored the game’s first goal to give the Gusties a 1-0 lead, but the Knights scored four unanswered goals to win the school’s first ever NCAA championship in any sport.

Gustavus advanced to the national championship game with a 3-2 overtime victory over the University of Wisconsin-Stout on Friday. Junior Patrick Dynan scored two goals including the game-winner against the Blue Devils.
