Third Annual Dancing With the Profs to Benefit United Way
Gustavus Adolphus College will host its third annual charity fundraiser "Dancing With the Profs" at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1 in Alumni Hall, located in the O.J. Johnson Student Union.
Minter Named Director of Student Financial Assistance
Gustavus Adolphus College recently named Doug Minter its new director of student financial assistance. A 1979 Gustavus graduate, Minter previously worked for the college in admission and financial assistance from 1985 to 1997.
Gamelin Endowment Fund to Bring Educator to Gustavus
Gustavus Adolphus College will welcome international scholar David W. Vikner to campus for a residency to honor initial use of the Gamelin Endowment Fund for China Studies. Vikner will be in residence at Gustavus from Sunday, Oct. 26 through Wednesday, Oct. 29.
District 23A Candidates to Debate Tuesday Night
Minnesota House District 23A candidates Terry Morrow and Mike Bidwell will take part in a debate at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28 in Gustavus Adolphus College's Evelyn Young Dining Room, located in the C. Charles Jackson Campus Center.
Wilson Sets Rushing Record as Football Team Defeats Augsburg
Senior running back Ray Wilson set a single-game school record with 258 rushing yards on 28 carries and two touchdowns as the Gustavus football team defeated Augsburg 34-31 on Saturday, Oct. 25.
Enger Brothers to Speak at Fall Author Day
Brothers Lin and Leif Enger will speak at the Gustavus Library Associates' Fall Author Day Wednesday, Nov. 5 at the Edina Country Club. The Minnesota natives each have had books published recently.

Football Team Knocks Off Previously Unbeaten Carleton
The Gustavus football team blocked two extra points late in the game on Saturday and earned a 30-29 overtime victory over 22nd-ranked Carleton. Gustavus improved to 4-2 overall and 2-2 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Four Students Selected for Collegiate Leadership Academy
Four Gustavus Adolphus College students have been selected to participate in the Greater Mankato Collegiate Leadership Academy (CLA). This collaborative leadership development program is a partnership between Gustavus, four other area colleges, and Greater Mankato Growth, Inc.
Sorority to Hold Annual Breast Cancer Benefit Lunch
The Delta Phi Omega sorority at Gustavus Adolphus College is preparing to hold its 10th annual Breast Cancer Benefit Lunch to support the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The benefit will take place at 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 2 in the St. Peter and Heritage Banquet Rooms in the C. Charles Jackson Campus Center.
