Students to Play Dodgeball for Charity Posted on November 5th, 2008 by

A charity dodgeball tournament at Gustavus Adolphus College will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8 in the Lund Center Forum. All proceeds from the event will be donated to United States Campaign for Burma.

Teams of six to ten Gustavus students will compete for prizes, which will be awarded to the top three teams and the best dressed team. There is a minimum entrance fee of $20 per team with 100 percent of the fee going to charity.

United States Campaign for Burma (USCB) is a U.S.-based membership organization dedicated to empowering grassroots activists around the world to bring about an end to the military dictatorship in Burma. Through public education, leadership development initiatives, conferences, and advocacy campaigns, USCB works to empower Americans and Burmese dissidents-in-exile to promote freedom, democracy, and human rights in Burma.

To make a donation to USCB, contact Gustavus students Dain Clausen or Angela Allen at dclausen@gustavus.edu or aallen@gustavus.edu respectively. This event is being sponsored by the Gustavus chapter of Amnesty International.
