Holiday Traditions Help Ring in the Winter Season

Before any finals are taken or cars are packed up as students return home for Christmas Recess, many members of the Gustavus community take time out of their schedules to participate in one or more of the many holiday traditions celebrated on campus.

Gilbert to Appear on MPR

Gustavus Adolphus College Professor of Political Science Chris Gilbert will appear on Minnesota Public Radio's midday show with Gary Eichten at 11 a.m. Friday, January 4. Gilbert will discuss the results of Thursday's Iowa caucuses and what they mean for the 2008 Presidential race.

Judy Douglas Honored by the BACCHUS Network

For the fifth time in her 27-year career at Gustavus Adolphus College, Judy Douglas was named Outstanding Advisor of the Year by the BACCHUS Network — a university and community-based network focused on comprehensive health and safety initiatives.

Continuing Education Events at Gustavus Adolphus College

Gustavus Adolphus College and the St. Peter Community and Family Education Office have teamed to provide the St. Peter community with several informational and educational lectures this year as part of the college's Continuing Education program.

Christmas in Christ Chapel on the Radio

The 35th annual Christmas in Christ Chapel celebration, which was held Nov. 30-Dec. 2, can soon be heard on many local radio stations across Minnesota and Iowa.

Intern Helps Non-profit Obtain $110,000 Grant

Mankato Free Press reporter Robb Murray featured Gustavus Adolphus College student Rebecca Andert in a recent article. During a summer internship, Andert helped secure a $110,000 grant for the Habitat for Humanity chapter in Rice Lake, Wisc.

St. Lucia Crowned at Gustavus Adolphus College

Sophomore Katelyn Johnson was crowned 2007 St. Lucia during Gustavus Adolphus College's 67th annual Festival of St. Lucia on Thursday, Dec. 6. Every year five sophomore women are chosen to serve on the college's St. Lucia Court based on academic achievement, spiritual leadership, service to the College, and other qualities.
