A Royal Affair will take place Saturday, Oct. 27 in Bloomington.

Gustavus Library Associates (GLA) will sponsor its 16th biennial library fundraiser, “Razzle Dazzle…A Royal Affair,” Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Sheraton Bloomington Hotel. This dinner and auction event will benefit the endowment fund of the Folke Bernadotte Memorial Library on the Gustavus Adolphus College campus.

More than 1,100 people will attend this gala event, which includes a formal dinner, live and silent auctions with approximately 700 items, and the joy of sharing a very special evening with friends of the Gustavus community. An online auction, a new aspect to this year’s event, will take place at www.gustavus.edu/gla the week before the event.

The well-known Steele family will entertain, host, serve as auctioneers, and generally shape the evening’s festivities. Honored this year will be the family of Dr. John and Mignette Najarian for its longstanding involvement with GLA and A Royal Affair.

This event is open to the public and reservations are required. For more information, or to make reservations, go online to www.gustavus.edu/gla or contact the Office for College Relations at 507-933-7520.

Since organizing in 1977, GLA has raised more than $2.5 million for the library endowment fund, acquisitions, and non-budgeted special collections.
