Harry Potter and the Deathy Hollows is the seventh and final book in J.K. Rowling’s popular series.

The Gustavus Adolphus College Book Mark in conjunction with several St. Peter community partners will host a release party for the seventh and final book in author J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows, from 10:30 p.m. to midnight Friday, July 20.

The event, which will take place at the St. Peter Community Center, is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to either bring a donation for the St. Peter food shelf or bring a knitted stocking hat that will be donated to Warm Woolies — a non-profit organization that provides warm pieces of clothing to children in orphanages. Knitting instructions for hats to be knit in Hogwart’s House colors are available at the Book Mark or online at charmedknits.blogspot.com.

Those attending are encouraged to dress in costume. Activities will include cookie decorating, divination with Professor Trelawney, potions class, a wizard’s ball, and a play titled “Barry Wotter: A Parody.”

Preorders for the book, which will be officially released July 21, are recommended and may be made by visiting the Book Mark in the college’s C. Charles Jackson Campus Center, by calling 507-933-7588, or by e-mailing Judy Schultz at jdschult@gustavus.edu. Preordered books are $25 including tax and may be picked up during the release party.
